Big Black Cadillac started a year ago as a band to play classic Rockabilly material locally for fun. We began rehearsals at Skeyton Village Hall for a while and later moved to North Walsham Community Centre (where Dale had started The Blue Moon Rock'n'Roll Club).Since the band started we played our first set at The Jolly Farmers ( a rural pub in Swanton Abbot). We then made a demo of covers at Purple Studios in Norwich (a gig demo titled "got it covered") and later supported The Fat Cats at The Ferry Boat in Norwich and our last gig was as support to Darrel Higham and Slim Jim Phantom at The Waterfront in Norwich. The band members work in various other bands (Drummer Steve who now plays upright bass, Guitar/Harmonica player Jez and Singer Neil are in Ugly Dog Skiffle Combo, Mark is in The Rhythm Boys and Dale is in Hotwired and stand in for Shakeout). The current line up of he band (Neil: vocals, Dale: Guitar/ backing vocals, Del: Drums/backing vocals and Jez: Upright Bass/Harmonica/Slide Guitar/backing vocals. two songs also have Kev Simpson from Red Hot n' Blue guesting on Sax) have a new album of original material (with influences ranging from boppin' blues, trad country and swing jive to classic style rockabilly, straight ahead rock'n'roll and 60's surf to 80's style neo rockabilly and grungeabilly) recorded at The Potting Shed in Stalham (mob: 07917660518, landline: 01692 581959 ask for Titch). German record label Vampirette have shown an interest in releasing some of Cadillacs material. Myspace Mailing List >>
